When dealing with industrial scales and smaller electric scales, it is very important that they are used properly and are in good working condition. Many businesses depend on the working of these industrial and electronic scales and find everyday business a hassle without them. Making sure that a scale’s spring is not stretched out beyond working is as important to the spring as gasoline is to a car, it won’t work without it. Scales, of course, are used in all sorts of trades, such as paper, produce and the general packaging of all sorts of products.
I used to work for the Old Garden Shack, a garden store in Milford, Ohio. There, I sold garden decorations, produce and containers. The produce would have to be weighed in order to be sold, so of course the use of an electric scale to weight the produce brought to me by the customers was important. It was an old scale so on the days that it did not work, my job was much more difficult and I had to use the manual scale that we had at the shop. Electric scales, after all, sped up my services and made it easier to do what needed to be done to please the customers.
In paper companies, such as the one in the television show The Office, tons of boxes of pare are sent out everyday. These boxes are placed onto pallets and must be weighed on an industrial scale in order to ensure the correct amount of paper is being sent out. These orders of paper are shipped all over, to companies that use that paper for everyday necessities such as company faxes, tax reports and important company data. Without a working scale, this process would run at a snail’s pace, consequently hurting business and company fluidity across the nation.
In companies that package and ship items, most are weighed on electric scales and, depending on the size, industrial scales too. For example, bags of potato chips, pretzels, and other snack items are packaged by weight, not volume. Their entire production and packaging system is based on the ability to weigh their products. Without a working electronic scale or a working industrial scale, everything would have to be put on hold and their business would suffer. This goes for any other product that is measured by weight.
In conclusion, the effect that electronic and industrial scales have on the everyday workday is substantial and is important to ponder when you are deciding upon what scales to purchase. As illustrated in the examples above, without a working scale, production can be slowed and can ultimately hurt the business. Now, of course, the price and function of the scale are equally as important as the life time, so be sure to keep those qualities in mind when looking for the scales you will be purchasing. Aesthetics can be pleasing but realize that they will not affect the business aspect of your company and so should not be the determining factor of which scales you decide to buy.
