I was shocked at the health insurance quotes delivered to me by my agent when it was time to renew it after spending several years with the same company. I was expecting at least a nominal discount for having stayed with the company for so long, having paid all of my premiums on time, and most importantly, for not making any claims in all those years. But not only was I expected to continue paying the same rates for the next coverage period, my agent also warned me that the premiums would likely be going up very soon. He said that the costs are rising all around so the company has to make up the difference somehow.
I didn’t utter a single word to my agent at that time but I’ve had it with that particular company and am ready to take my business elsewhere. I wanted to compare policies and rates to choose one that best serves my need so that is why I am currently working in other place to get the insurance quotes. I tried calling few local agents through the advertisement in the newspaper but unfortunately they were not offering anything better than the policy I was having.

I have heard that online search can yield many good leads, as an Internet-wide search can turn up a bunch of reputable insurers that I might otherwise never find. There are a lot of smaller companies that don’t bother of advertising anymore but instead do everything they can to keep overhead costs down so they can pass the savings on to customers. To be true with you I will rather stick with a company that does business this way than one that feels the need to spend millions advertising their health insurance quotes during football games or whatever.

This greatly reduces the amount of time spent searching for a good policy, so I’m definitely going to give these databases a try!
I see no reason to continue sending the money to my current insurer because the insurer has shown no interest in rewarding me for staying with the company and has actually said that premiums will become even more costly in the future. Instead, I’m going to find cheaper health insurance quotes online, and do what’s best for my family and budget. Loyalty is a two-way street, but I guess the big conglomerates just don’t understand that concept!
