I am dismayed and appalled to find out that so many people are considering bankruptcy right now in the United States. We are so insulated here but I have heard that in parts of the rest of the world it is even worse; their economies are falling like boulders from the walls of steep canyons. Fortunately we have laws that are protections for our citizens. Or do we? If we had laws that were protections for our citizens then their whole fiasco would not have taken place. Of course I am talking about the financial fiasco. Could any of us have seen it coming? My husband and I are artists, stone carvers, and we have watched great wealth stream by our booth for years. We have watched people who are dripping with money, literally dripping, waft by our booth, with unseeing eyes. Who said that because you were rich you also had taste? But I have watched those people from behind my booth wearing purses that cost them upwards of two thousand dollars and shoes that cost them maybe seven hundred dollars and should I go on to their belts, their pants, their jewelry, their sunglasses. And who knows about their underwear!
